PLANO, TX — Are you working hard or hardly working? Well, according to a recent study from WalletHub, Plano residents will be working hard in 2018. That’s because Plano was named the best city in Texas for finding jobs in the new year. The city also ranked well nationwide, coming in at No. 6.
WalletHub researchers studied 26 different metrics that indicate job-market strength ranging from job opportunities to average monthly salaries. What they found was that five metroplex cities, including Plano, landed among the top-50 slots on the roster.
Among those North Texas cities was Garland, which ranked 48th, but grabbed the No. 5 spot for employment growth. Others on the list were Irving, 23; Grand Prairie, 38;Dallas, 49; Arlington, 83; and Fort Worth, 87.
Plano also crossed the finish line with the bronze metal for highest median annual income and a fourth-place ranking for most affordable housing.
Nine other Texas cities landed spots in the top 180 cities for job seekers. Austin got the No. 11 spot, Amarillo, 39; San Antonio, 59; Lubbock, 79; El Paso, 107; Houston, 120; Corpus Christi, 139; Laredo, 146; and Brownsville, 171.
